My problem is that my screen saver will not operate at all, no matter what settings I use. It does work when I use the 'preview' function though.

I am using the inbuilt standard screensavers. No errors pop up, the screen saver just does not actuivate whenthe alloted time has passed.I am running Windows 7 x64. It's updated to the fullest extent via Windows Update. My mobo is a Gigabyte X79-UD3 running F16 Bios, the latest version.I recently replaced my graphics with a new GTX 780Ti and I am using the latest drivers but the problems existed before the upgrade. My screen saver is set to blank screen after 1 minute (just for testing, it's normally set to 10 minutes) and used to work perfectly in the past. I can't honestly remember when it stopped working as I am usually at the computer, so have no need of it. All mydisplays are set to turn off after 30 minutes (three Dell U2413 24' WS monitors), my computer is set to never sleep and hard drive set to never turn off (Kingston SSD as C: drive). Allow wake timers set to disabled.

Windows

USB selective suspend setting set to disabled. All Human input devices have 'Aloow this device to wake the computer' unticked.I am using a Wireless Logitech G700s mouse and wired Logitech G19 keyboard. I mention this as my research has said that this could be the cause. However, I have removed and uninstalled the keyboard and mouse drivers and this hasn't rectified my problem.

I amusing the latest drivers for both, downloaded and installed from the manufacturers website today. My Powercfg /energy report highlighted the issue for me I think and I list them below. My problem is that I have no idea how to fix these errors, so any help would be really gratefully received please. For reference, my Device Manager is saying that I have three Generic USB Hubs, four USB Composite Devices, one USB Mass Storage Device and two USB Root Hubs, all seemingly not entering 'suspend state.' I've tried various other things over the last two months or so since I noticed this issue but I can't honestly remember what they are. Please respond if you have any ideas and I will happily reply with the results.I am using ESET Node32 and I have tried this with that switched off but no luck.I have used sfc /scannow but the system file checker doesn't report any errors.I can manually run all the screensavers by using the 'Preview' button and they all work fine when done using this method.USB Suspend:USB Device not Entering SuspendThe USB device did not enter the Suspend state. Hello,Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community. As per the description I understand that screen saver is not working on your Windows 7 computer.

However, it shows up in preview function. Hi there and many thanks for your reply. Sorry for my late reply but work got in the way. I apologise.I have Windows 7 Ultimate and it was a clean install, rather than an upgrade from a previous version.Yes the screen saver used to work but to be honest, I can't remember when it stopped. I know that it was working last year and noticed that at some point this year it had stopped working. Hello,Thank you for keeping us updated on the status of the issue. To get the screen saver and power options to work while a wireless mouse or keyboard is plugged in, use the following steps:a. Click Start and then click All Programs.b.

Click Windows Update then download updates, if needed.c. Click on the link 'Review optional updates' and then from these optional updates, select 'Microsoft HID non-user input data filter '.d.

Install the update. Once done, the screen saver and power options will function normally even while a wireless mouse is connected. If it does not help, then check the issue in new user account.Refer:Create a user accountIf issue does not persist in new user account, then copy all the data from old user account to new one.Refer:Fix a corrupted user profileI hope this information helps.Thank you. Hi sirhave you tried updating the graphics card software and the chip set drivers for your mother board as this could be your issue ive had the same issue aswell and that fixed the issue once i updated the chip set drivers and graphics card driverstip 1 turn off your computer unseat the graphics card and re seat it againtip 2 download the updated graphics card drivers for your cardtip 3 go to your motherboard makers website click on support and download the latest chipset drivers for your mother boardthat should fix your problem Allan Sheldrake. Thank you both for taking the time to respond; I appreciate your help. The problem existed before I changed the graphics card. I am using the latest graphics card drivers (and I even tried using older ones too in case it was an issue. It wasn't).My motherboard definitely has the latest drivers installed. I even updated the BIOS on the motherboard in case that was the issues but it wasn't.Windows is updated to the fullest extent.

There are no further updates to apply at all, whether they are important updates, suggested ones, alternate ones or optional updates. The Microsoft HID non-user input data filter was never in the list of updates. I found a thread about a month ago regarding that exact issue and found and installed (via Pkgmgr.exe) the Microsoft HID non-user input data filter.cab file (version 8.15.403.0dated 4/8/11, filename X86-zh-twdeelenesfritkopt-brruzh-cnptja-nec-204209223ec5406464bf4e283be7dc75eda69de6d59cf88b.cab). This has not resolved the issue either.A new user account has also not resolved the issue, even after a reboot.I am beginning to think that only a reinstall of windows will fix this issue and I am not prepared to do that. Hello,Thank you again for your response.Did running check disk resolve the issue? If not, Please refer to suggestions from glennkimball replied on September 3, 2010 and check.Note: Using Third Party Software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly.
